Panel grid, outside dimensions, shell volume

A bolted panel tank is built from 1080 mm panels, so choosing a tank is choosing a grid. The table below shows which grid the commonly asked-for volumes land on.

These pages are for the companies that build tanks. If you are buying a tank for your own site, you need a tank manufacturer; we make the software they use.

The outside dimensions and the shell volume are worked out from the grid. Shell volume comes from the outside of the tank; the usable water volume is lower, once freeboard and internals are taken off. Panel, bolt and gasket quantities are deliberately not here: they depend on your panel type, your bolt pattern and your support choice, and the software takes them from your own catalogue.
